Description

Seminar Description:

AWI is excited to offer a supplementary seminar for its popular virtual Workplace Investigation Basics series. This 2-hour California public employer virtual supplement will provide a more detailed look at specific procedural and substantive issues not present in other types of investigations, such as the application of the employer’s policies, notices and admonishments, and employee representation.

Notes: (1) Although not required, attendance at the Workplace Investigation Basics series is a highly suggested prerequisite for this supplement. If you have not completed the Basics, AWI will be offering additional installments in June, August-September, and November. Keep an eye on our event calendar for details. (2) This supplement does not contain a detailed discussion of issues pertaining to POBR/FOBR. For webinars diving into this topic, check out the AWI Learning Center. 3) This program will not be available on-demand, so registrants must attend live.

Learning Objectives:

Through attending this Seminar, participants will understand and be able to perform the following tasks relevant to public sector investigations:

  1. Identify public sector issues
  2. Give the proper notifications and admonishments
  3. Conduct defensible interviews and follow-up interviews without violating state laws
  4. Arrive at a legally defensible decision
  5. Issue a report to meet the agency’s needs, including evaluating and incorporating documentation gathered during the investigative process.

Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel your supplement registration and do so before Friday, June 21, your seminar registration fee will be refunded, minus a $50 USD processing fee. To cancel your registration, email office@awi.org. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after Friday, June 21.
